Dear Fellow Angler,

With your help we would like the fish population of Lake Tisza to thrive and strengthen, and its environment to become cleaner and more attractive. A real angler catches fish with sportsmanlike tools and proper methods, and handles them humanely. You do not have to forget during angling that fish are sentient beings to which we must not cause excess suffering. We have introduced some regulations (limitations) which serve the sustainability of the fish population.
We need your support so angling could mean fish catching with sportsmanlike tools and methods, humane behaviour, civilized pastime, relaxation in the nature, and the protection of the aquatic and waterside environment to more and more angler. Be our partner in this, ask for our help! If you experience something that is opposite to our common objectives, call the river-keeper at the following number:

Rules of boilie fishing on Lake Tisza

The boilie fishing rules are the following:

Places designated for boilie fishing (having a number and indicated on a pane) constitute an exception to point 12 (find the list on the website of Sporthorgász Ltd.). Bookings for these places can be made solely via our company. Besides the conditions listed here, persons disposing of an area-specific boilie fishing ticket in a boilie area have to observe the rules applying to boilie fishing in general

1.6. Area-wise, boilie fishing may be done in two ways:

1.6.1. Pre-booking is possible only for the designated boilie areas: the list of these places is found on www.sporthorgasz.eu. These places can be used by anyone, but in the event of a person possessing a valid boilie fishing ticket and a reservation, the place has to be given to the angler with a ticket.

1.6.2. Boilie fishing is permitted in the whole area of lake Tisza, including the shore or from a watercraft, but these places can be taken solely in order of arrival. In this case, the exact GPS coordinates of the watercraft and the projected duration of stay have to be included in the notification.

1.10. Anglers having a pre-booked place and possessing a (weekly or monthly) fishing ticket are allowed to catch and keep for consumption 1 (one) fish per day, 3 (three) fish per week in total, the fish weighing less than five kilogrammes, indigenous and protected by the limitation of catch amount.

2.1. When baiting with live fish, hook combinations of a maximum of two hooks are allowed. In the case of peaceful fish, one single hook per rod is allowed, and the use of hair rig is obligatory.

3.3. Fish can stay on the short only as long as the photos are being taken and they have to be continuously sprinkled! Photos are to be taken solely at squatting or kneeling height, in a standing position, above a fish-mat (for catfish, using a sheet). It is prohibited to photo hanged fish!

3.4. To ensure humane fishing methods, it is obligatory to have and to use the following equipment:

– A boat (when tiring the fish, it has to be done by leaning over it, standing in the boat; it is forbidden to pull the fish to the shore). Besides the obligatory accessories defined in the law, the boat has to be equipped with a fish-mat or a large sheet (for catfish) which the angler uses to bring the fish to the shore.

– A large, good-quality fish-mat made of waterproof textile, well-stuffed. (To lay the fish, anglers are obliged to use a wet fish-mat, for catfish a wet sheet).
